Grease

Theatre Memphis’ production of Grease opened the theatre’s 98th season. Caroline was cast as Jan under the direction and choreography of Whitney Branan and music direction of Jeff Brewer. The show was met with sold-out performances before previews began.

The show was praised by audiences and critics alike, with the cast performing at various events around the city to promote the show throughout the run. One of these performances was Trezevant Manor’s gala for the Arts, where many Memphis-based artistic endeavors were brought to showcase the talented artists in the city.

Branan said that as Jan, Caroline was “a revelation in every aspect of being a theatre person…[Caroline has] created this incredible Jan that… is perfect. Funny and powerful. Kind. And fearless.”

Kacky Walton of WKNO 91.1 said the show was “a joyous salute to the hybridization of what it means to be a young, progressive adult. It’s a raucous, hilarious evening of theatre filled with athletic choreography and fantastic rock vocals.”
